This blog is in reference to the landlord referencing site and it's recommendation to it's visitors to use a named debt collection agency. Firstly, the debt collection agency is charging 15% commission, which is nearly twice our 8% commission fee. Having never heard of the recommended company, I did then check them out. Formed in Birmingham, in February 2013, they offer a nationwide coverage debt collection service, from a mobile number. A good nationwide debt collection company would require in excess of 150+ collectors, not easy to get started in only two months. So what are you actually being recommended, simply it is a letter sending service with mounting threats and no doorstep visit. Yes, some debtors will pay up via a letter (a bluff), but the hopes of the creditor are other wise only false.
There is one other claim by this debt collection agency, that being, that court action will be taken, I wonder who will pay for the judgement order, issue of warrant and for a Bailiff to levy?
The golden rule, always know what you are referring before you recommend. You could end up with more than just egg on your face and it won't be a smile.
